ʿĀlimah Safiyyah Karim
ʿĀlimah Safiyyah Karim is a graduate of Madrasah Mu’einul Islam in Zakariyya Park, Johannesburg, South Africa, and the Executive Director of Amana Institute of New York.
She has taught across different madrasas in the areas of tafsīr, fiqh, ḥadīth, Arabic, adab, and tarbiyah. Her work focuses on building serious, structured, and spiritually grounded spaces for sisters and youth to study sacred knowledge with clarity, reverence, and purpose.
At Amana, she teaches and develops curriculum across the ʿĀlimiyyah, Arabic, tafsīr, fiqh, ḥadīth, and tarbiyah-focused programs, with an emphasis on connecting classical Islamic learning to lived faith, family life, and service.
ʿĀlimah Tasnim Karim
ʿĀlimah Tasnim Karim is a graduate of Madrasah Mu’einul Islam in Zakariyya Park, Johannesburg, South Africa, with 5+ years of teaching experience.
Her teaching focuses on Qurʾān, Qāʿidah, Islamic Studies, duʿāʾs, hifẓ of sūrahs, and shakhsiyyah building. She works with students to build consistency, fluency, adab, and love for dīn in a structured and nurturing classroom environment.
