Amana’s Maktab program gives students a steady after-school or weekend environment to grow in Qurʾān recitation, Qāʿidah, daily duʿāʾs, sūrah memorization, and essential Islamic Studies.
Families may choose weekday classes, weekend classes, or the full 6-day option depending on their child’s schedule and learning needs.
What students will study.
The Maktab curriculum is designed to nurture Qurʾān reading, memorization, daily practice, Islamic knowledge, and strong Muslim character.
Qāʿidah
Students develop foundational Qurʾān reading skills through letters, sounds, rules, fluency, and structured practice.
Sūrah Tilāwah
Students practice reading selected sūrahs with correction, pronunciation support, and gradual fluency.
Sūrah Memorization
Students memorize sūrahs according to their level, with review and repetition built into the class routine.
Daily Duʿāʾs
Students memorize and review practical duʿāʾs that help them build Islamic habits in everyday life.
Islamic Studies
Students learn essential topics in belief, worship, adab, Islamic manners, and Muslim identity.
Checkpoint-based Qāʿidah progression
Students are assessed as they complete key Qāʿidah topics such as makhārij, ḥarakāt, madd, sukūn, shaddah, qalqalah, ikhfāʾ, iqlāb, iẓhār, idghām, mīm sākinah rules, lām and rāʾ rules, and mixed Qāʿidah examples.
Naẓirah / Tilāwah checkpoints
Qurʾān reading progresses through a structured checkpoint system beginning with Sūrah al-Fātiḥah and short sūrahs, then continuing through Juz ʿAmma and the wider Qurʾān. Students must show fluency and proper tajwīd before advancing.
ʿUlamāʾ checkpoint testing
When students reach checkpoint stages, qualified ʿulamāʾ or examiners conduct checkpoint testing so that students are assessed with consistency, accountability, and care.
Parent communication
Parents are informed when students are ready for major checkpoints, testing, or level advancement. This helps families understand their child’s progress and learning path.
